The Circle of Red is crucial in driving local support to fund life saving research and to educate women.  Though we have made great strides in the advancement of women’s cardiovascular health, we still have far to go.  We need your help now so that our mothers, sisters, and daughters have a chance to fight this silent killer.  By sharing a commitment to speak up, spread the word and support the research, you can help save lives.

Go Red For Women is the American Heart Association’s solution to save women’s lives.  Too many women die each year because they are unaware that heart disease is their No. 1 killer.  One in three women suffers in silence – many not even realizing they are at risk, and almost one woman dies every minute of this largely preventable disease!  Go Red For Women believes that bringing women together empowers them to bring a voice to this silent killer to help save lives.

The Circle of Red is a very special group of women who support the Go Red For Women cause through their contributions of significant resources and influence in the support of the cause.  The Circle of Red is like a grassroots sisterhood, made up of amazing women who advocate for women’s health and are determined to save lives.

Kelly Glass's Story
Unlike many of the amazing women involved in Go Red, I do not have an inspiring or painful story related to heart disease--at least not yet. My motivation for participating is awareness and prevention. Throughout my life, I have seen the women in my family diligently care for their husbands, sons, brothers and fathers, who fought high blood pressure and heart disease. But they virtually ignored their own risk factors. I am also guilty of this. I'll nag my husband (lovingly) to exercise, lay off the greasy fast food and take it easy shoveling snow because he inherited his family's tendency to have high blood pressure. But I didn't really think much about my own heart health--until now. I've made exercise a priority, changed my diet to include more healthy foods and am getting a full battery of long-overdue tests. I encourage you to do the same and to support Go Red For Women. Whether you choose to make a contribution or not, please help spread the word. For my company, I am rolling out a program with country-specific materials, visits from experts, yoga classes and more to encourage employees to get on the right track and take care of themselves. If I can help even one person reduce her risks, I'll consider it a success! Tell a woman you care for about Go Red For Women today.
